Product Information
Class 300 Cast Carbon Steel Basket Strainers: Efficient and Reliable Protection
Our Class 300 Cast Carbon Steel flanged end basket strainers, model 186-CS, are designed for chemical process applications, including brine, paint, fuel oil, organic and inorganic chemicals, as well as condensers and heat exchangers. These strainers ensure smooth and efficient operation by providing effective and economical protection for pumps, valves, and similar costly equipment.
Features
• Economical Protection: Strains foreign matter from pipelines, safeguarding pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment.
• High Capacity and Easy Maintenance: Suited for medium and coarse straining applications like brine, paint, fuel oil, organic and inorganic chemicals, as well as condensers and heat exchangers.
• Durable Construction: Cast Carbon Steel or Chrome-Moly Alloy body with a 304 stainless steel basket strainer that allows a straight-through flow for an extremely low pressure drop.
• Versatile Sizes: Available in sizes ranging from 1 1⁄2 in. to 20 in. (40 – 500 mm).
Construction
• Effective Design: Angular cutaway design of the baskets allows a straight-through flow, resulting in extremely low pressure drop.
• Easy Self-Cleaning: Tapped and plugged NPT drain on the strainer bottom enables easy self-cleaning on open bottom baskets. Simply open the valve or plug on the outlet to flush accumulated particles.
• Flexible Configuration: Bodies can be tapped for pressure gauges, or per customer requirement. Consult factory.
Typical Service Applications
• Chemical processes, including brine, paint, fuel oil, organic and inorganic chemicals
• Condensers and heat exchangers
• Providing protection for pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment
Note: For finer straining, consider models 125F-CS or 126F-CS.
