Product Information
The Mueller 782-WE Cast Steel Y-Strainer is engineered to protect critical system components from foreign matter in pipelines. It is especially effective where weld debris is present. Designed for high-pressure and high-temperature applications, this strainer ensures long-lasting performance and reliability in demanding environments.
Applications:
Industrial Pipelines: Ideal for filtering debris from pipelines in industrial settings, protecting pumps, meters, and valves.
High-Temperature Systems: Suitable for use in systems operating at high temperatures, such as steam lines and processing plants.
High-Pressure Applications: Perfect for applications requiring high-pressure tolerance, ensuring consistent and reliable performance.
Service Application:
Extensively used to strain foreign matter from pipelines, offering economical protection for costly mechanical equipment.
Specifically designed for high-pressure and high-temperature services, making it a critical component in maintaining system integrity.
Key Features:
Durable Construction: Made from cast carbon steel or chrome-moly body with a heavy-gauge 304 stainless steel screen securely locked in place to prevent sediment bypass.
High Pressure and Temperature Resistance: Designed for Class 300 specifications, capable of withstanding 740 psi at -20 to 100°F (51.02 bar at 37.78°C) and 300 psi at 850°F (20.86 bar at 454.44°C).
Generous Capacity: Open area ratio much greater than pipe size, ensuring low pressure drop and efficient flow.
Versatile Design: Available in sizes ranging from 1⁄2 in. to 24 in. (15 to 600 mm) to accommodate various pipeline diameters.
Construction:
Machined Seats: Both body and cap have machined seats to align and lock the screen in place, ensuring accurate reseating after servicing.
Self-Cleaning: Self-cleaning is accomplished by opening the plug or valve connected to the blowoff outlet.
Blowoff Outlets: NPT tapped blowoff outlets at location C, with sizes specified as needed. Blind covers are available upon request.
