Product Information
The Mueller 866-CI Y-Strainer is designed to offer reliable protection for pipelines by effectively straining out foreign matter. Its robust construction makes it particularly suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature applications where weld debris is prevalent.
Applications:
Industrial Pipelines: Ideal for removing debris from pipelines in industrial settings, ensuring smooth operation of pumps, meters, and valves.
High-Pressure Systems: Suitable for high-pressure applications, such as manufacturing plants and refineries, where weld debris is common.
High-Temperature Environments: Perfect for use in extreme temperature environments, ensuring reliable filtration and protection.
Typical Service:
Extensively used to strain foreign matter from pipelines, providing economical protection for costly pumps, meters, valves, and other mechanical equipment.
Essential for applications where weld debris is present, ensuring long-lasting performance in high-pressure and high-temperature conditions.
Key Features:
Robust Construction: The 866-CI Y-Strainer features a cast carbon steel, carbon-moly, or chrome-moly body and a 304 stainless steel screen securely seated to eliminate sediment bypass.
Reliable Screening: Machined seats in both body and cap align and lock the screen in place, ensuring no sediment bypass and facilitating accurate reseating after servicing.
Self-Cleaning: Equipped with self-cleaning capability by opening the plug or valve connected to the blow-off outlet.
Versatile Design: Available in sizes 1⁄2 in. – 2 in. (15 – 50 mm) to suit various pipeline diameters.
High Pressure Tolerance: Rated for 6170psi @-20°F to 100°F (425.41 bar @ 37.78°C) and 2655psi @ 850°F (183.06 bar @ 454.44°C).
Construction:
The 866-CI Y-Strainer is designed with heavy-duty, rugged bodies with an extra heavy bore.
Most models come with a removable bolted cap for easy maintenance.
1″ and smaller models feature a screwed cap.
Blowoff Outlets:
Covers are furnished blind with socket weld blowoff connections available upon request.
1″ and smaller models come with NPT tapped blowoff.
